It was at this point when i decided that the code i had reused would not be efficient enough for mobile targets. With this games focus towards all devices i needed to make sure that all of the code was optimal and i begun to rebuild everything. i scrapped the graphics and used some place holder images as tests. in this build the lighting was a simple alpha cutout which seemed to work effectively and was much less of a performance hit than calculating real time lights. 

The enemy AI was revised and optimized to cut out a lot of silly checks and loops and resulted in much cleaner and maintainable code. a simple enemy inheritance system was created to allow for much more flexibility in the future.
